Desa Katamama, Sudare House by Kengo Kuma

Kengo Kumas house without walls, using only sudare blinds of local rattan for partition. Designed as a sustainable living environment in which light and air can be controlled. Mantra is currently working on reducing the cooling load, and applying passive cooling strategies and improved air distribution, Mantra has improved the thermal properties of all building components and providing building studies, water recycling and rainwater filtration systems. The project is a work in progress as we make this modern contemporary architecture fit into the local balinese environment.
