Riau Ecosystem Restoration Camp

Riau Ecosystem Restoration is a multi-party project to restore and conserve an area of ecologically important peat forest in Indonesia’s Sumatra island.

In association with TGAG, Mantra designed the energy, water and waste systems for the off-grid remote rainforest camp. Mantra developed a hybrid energy system consisting of 38 kWp PV panels, a 120 kWh battery bank and 45 kVA genset. Mantra modelled financial savings of 216,000 USD in reduced capital and operational expenditure with an ROI of 6 years.
